East Coast Wings + Grill is thrilled to bring home more trophies! We certainly don’t base our success on these type of winnings, however, it is very reassuring to know that we’re not the only ones who think we’re NUMBER #1.
As you know, the first taste of victory came in 2010 when we received the honor of being the first place winner for our original Traditional Hot Sauce, and the second place for the Creative Spicy, Santa Fe Inferno. Thanks to the growth we have been experiencing, we were busy focusing on opening new stores and unable to return to Buffalo this year to defend our title. Fortunately, the organization decided to host the first annual “Carolina Wing Festival – Road to Buffalo” at the regional level allowing the winners of this event to compete in a final culminating event at the national level in Buffalo in 2012. Competing against more than 50 different wings and some of the areas best restaurants, it is with great pride that we announce that East Coast Wings + Grill brought home top honors winning 1st place in Traditional Hot, 1st place for Golden BBQ in a blind taste test judges by a panel of community members and celebrities. We also were designated as the “People’s Choice Award” winners. The criteria for this included a combination of weighted scores of on-line votes, voting by festival attendees and a blind taste test of their sauces judged by an assortment of people from local community.
There are currently no plans to compete in any upcoming events however, we know that there will be plenty of opportunities in 2012 so stay tuned!
